GlassesUSA Nightmare: Wrong PD & Unreachable Support! 😭


My terrible online shopping experience is something I feel compelled to share, hoping it serves as a cautionary tale for others. My son, just 12, found glasses he loved using virtual try-on, but when they arrived, he couldn't see properly. We discovered the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect because GlassesUSA assumed a value instead of prompting us. This left him unable to use his new glasses, and me utterly frustrated by the lack of direct human contact and slow email responses when trying to get help. This whole ordeal compelled me to finally get through to someone, and to also leave this review, to highlight such a basic, yet crucial, mistake and the difficulty in resolving it.

Customer: I'm calling about order #105081183 for my son's glasses. The pupil distance is completely wrong, and he can't see anything. Your site never even asked for his PD! CS Rep: I deeply apologize for the vision issues your son is experiencing and the frustration this has caused. That's certainly not the outcome we intend for our customers. Customer: It's been a nightmare trying to get this fixed. We had to go back to the doctor just to confirm the PD was off. Why is such a critical measurement assumed, and why is it so impossible to speak with a human on the phone? CS Rep: I understand your frustration with our process and the difficulty in reaching us. We can absolutely remake the lenses with the correct pupil distance for your son. We are actively working to improve our customer service accessibility. Customer: So what's the process now? Do I send these useless glasses back first? How long until he has a pair he can actually wear? CS Rep: Yes, for an exchange, we require the original pair to be returned before we can process and ship the replacement. I can email you a return label right away, and once we receive them, we will prioritize remaking his new glasses. You can expect them within [X] business days.

The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap.
